Does it cost more to bring more passengers on our private jet charter flight?

Not as much as you might think. As you would expect, larger private jets able to carry more people will generally cost more to charter per hour than smaller aircraft with fewer available seats – but beyond that, the only additional charge per passenger is a standard fee, the amount of which is dependent on the nature of your trip.

When traveling within the U.S., this charge is a domestic segment tax in the amount of just $4.30 for each passenger, per trip leg. This “head tax” increases to $18.90 per passenger/per leg when flying internationally, and there is an additional $9.50 per passenger/per leg fee if the flight will be departing from Alaska or Hawaii. Other countries charge similar mandatory fees, so please consult your charter professional about the specific fees required for your trip.

Of course, it's always preferable to advise your charter professional ahead of time how many passengers will be flying with you. This ensures there are no last-minute surprises with boarding the aircraft, and also gives the flight crew time to ensure compliance with all necessary preflight activities, including weight and balance calculations on smaller aircraft.
