What does the first Sunday of February mean to you? For fans of American Football, it can mean only one thing: SUPER BOWL. The NFL final is the biggest sporting event in the US, and this year, Super Bowl LVII takes place on February 12th. Grammy Award winner Rihanna is the star performing at half-time.
Are you lucky enough to have tickets? How are you planning to travel to the stadium? If you charter a private jet, Super Bowl 2023 won’t just be a great day—it will be an amazing day.
Super Bowl Travel: Where is Super Bowl This Year?
Super Bowl locations are decided several years in advance. Warm-weather cities and/or domed stadiums are usually chosen. This year, the venue is the 63,000-seat State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Also known as the University of Phoenix Stadium, it hosts college football’s annual Fiesta Bowl and is home of the NFL Arizona Cardinals too.
Four Reasons Why You Should Travel to Super Bowl by Private Jet
A private jet is a practical and luxurious option for your Super Bowl travel. Here’s why:
Fly Directly to the Game!
Private jets can fly to airports that airlines don’t serve—and use smaller runways and airports. This gives you a far wider choice of departure and landing points. In turn, this means you can often leave from an airport closer to home and fly more directly to your destination.
If you charter a private jet for your Super Bowl travel this year, you can land at Glendale Municipal Airport, just 2 miles from State Farm Stadium. But maybe you have a hotel booked outside Glendale, or want to attend another nearby event first? No problem. There are five other airports within 20 miles of the stadium, all available to you by private jet:
Luke AFB Airport, Luke (7 miles)
Phoenix Goodyear Airport, Goodyear (9 miles)
Phoenix Deer Valley Airport Phoenix (15 miles)
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport Phoenix, United States (16 miles)
Pleasant Valley Airport Peoria, United States (19 miles)
Book Your Superbowl Flight to Fit Your Schedule
Designing a flight schedule that suits your plans is one of the big benefits of flying privately. There’s no need to fit your plans around often inconvenient or infrequent airline flights. If you charter a private jet to Super Bowl, you can fly when you want. Would you like to arrive the day before and stay locally overnight? Not a problem. On a tight schedule? Need to fly in for the game and depart straight afterwards? With a private jet charter, you can!
One good reason for arriving earlier is to enjoy events like Lowe’s Super Bowl Experience at the Phoenix Convention Center, which begins on February 4th. The NFL's football theme park offers interactive games like the 40-yard dash. There’s also the chance to get star player autographs, take photos with the Super Bowl Rings and Vince Lombardi trophy, and visit the NFL Shop.
Extend Your Trip and Explore the Area
Want to spend time in Glendale and take in the sights? No problem. Book your charter flights to arrive a few days early, depart a few days late, or both. The area offers:
golf courses (there are only a few within Glendale itself, but nearby Phoenix offers over 200)
hiking, biking, and horseback riding at the 1,000-acre Thunderbird Park
activities and tours at the beautiful and historic Sahuaro Ranch
the 17,000-seat Gila River Arena, home to the NHL Arizona Coyotes
historic downtown Glendale, with its antique stores, boutiques, quaint shops, cafes, and restaurants
the Arrowhead Regional Mall
Westgate City Center
Glendale Civic Center
historic Murphy Park.
Travel in Comfort and Enjoy the Convenience
Forget arriving hours early at the airport. Crowded aircraft cabins. Long queues for check-in. Endless waits for your luggage to appear on the carousel. When you charter a private jet, your luggage is all handled for you. Check-in is easy and any wait for your flight can be passed in a comfortable private lounge. As for the trip itself, the luxurious and spacious surroundings of your private jet are just for you, and any family or friends you take along, to enjoy! You can also benefit from bespoke catering and additional services such as transfers.
Super Bowl Travel Tips
If you’re planning to travel to Super Bowl by private jet, book as early as you can. Availability of landing slots will be reduced at busy times, so early booking is the best way to ensure you get the aircraft you want.
Before you travel to the stadium itself, be aware that the NFL Clear Bag Policy means that backpacks, purses (other than small clutches), and diaper bags aren’t permitted in the stadium. Every ticket holder can carry:
one clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag no larger than 12” by x 6” x 12” OR a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
a phone and a small clutch purse or wallet no larger than 4.5" x 6.5" with or without a handle (this may be searched).
You can’t take your own food and drinks into the stadium (unless medically necessary). Make sure you have cash or your cards for refreshments.
You can take a blanket and an approved seat cushion (this must be small and can’t have pockets, zippers, compartments, or a cover).
