CHARTER QUOTE

Is it ok for unaccompanied minors to fly onboard chartered private jets?

Generally, yes, as long as they are above a certain age (usually 12-13, but as young as 7 for some operators.) Minors under the age of 16 traveling alone require a legal guardian to complete a Chain of Custody form listing the approved contact at their destination, and this person will need to present identification to the designated flight crew member before the operator releases the minor into their custody.

Most operators also require a flight attendant to travel in the cabin with the unaccompanied minor, and the flight crew (typically the captain or pilot in command, although he or she may delegate this duty to other crew members as needed) may also be required to escort the minor between the aircraft and FBO if any en route stops are necessary, such as for fuel. These additional duties may result in added costs.
